The West Chicago Park District is in the midst of a Master Plan process, one which is the first such plan in the last 15 years. Critical to this is the participation of the community. While several meetings have been held, the District has announced two more opportunities to attend this year. November 6th and December December 4th, staff will be available at the Park Distirct Administration Offices to discuss future plans for the District. Meetings begin at 8pm, 157 W. Washington, West Chicago.
While several ideas have been forthcoming, the District is anxious to hear from individuals, businesses, agencies, service clubs, anyone with a suggestion. Subjects can range from athletics, to the preservation of open space, to classroom needs, to facility needs, to marketing. Frank Lenertz, Board President said “This Master Plan process is basically an open forum for the residents and participants to give the District its expectations or service delivery, all are welcome”. Hitchcock Design is formulating this plan, and results should be available in early 2008.
