Including this generous lead gift, Wheaton Academy has raised $7.47 million to date to support the three goals of Transforming Every Student: The Campaign for Wheaton Academy – scholarships for worthy students in need, an endowment to support the school’s faculty and staff, and construction of a 30,000 square foot field house facility set to open for the 2009-2010 school year. To honor the legacy of the donor, whose mother attended the Academy, and to honor the thousands of alumni and families that span the Academy’s 154-year history, the new field house will be named the Heritage Field House.
In addition to the Campaign’s lead gift, an additional anonymous donor has stepped forward with a $1 million challenge grant. All gifts and pledges made between October 30 and December 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $1 million in order to reach the $9 million mark by the end of the year.
