Recent furror over the assassination of B. Bhutto has resulted in all the presidential candidates now bieng concerned with their abilities to handle foreign policy. No need to get excited. There hasn't been a US foreign policy for 15 years.
What has been passed off as foreign policy has been arrogance, intimidation, sanctions, threat of war, a holier than thou attitude and lack of common sense. Never have the past administrations considered other countries goals and desires or used statemanship or negotiations. Witness the arrogance of George W. Bush in telling Cuba to change their government and he'll consider removing some santions, none of which work.
This coupled with 5 aggressive military actions since Viet Nam places the US in a reviled position around the globe. Any of the candidates could be more successful in foreign policy if they just don't copy the last 15 years and start listening, not demanding, understanding, not scorning. Of course this isn't ego building but ist might produce positive results.
