It's been a great year for Community High School's Wildcat Chronicle. The student newspaper won the Columbia Scholastic Press Association silver medalist award; the American Scholastic Press Association's first place rating; and Quill and Scroll's International first place award.

Now you can add to that a number of impressive awards from the Northern Illinois School Press Association, which were announced last week. Blue Ribons were awarded to C.J. Hinojosa for column writing; Brittany Blanchard for editorial and sports writing (formerly incorrectly reported as Kellie Virnich),
Brittany Rose for editorial cartoons, and Brittany Blanchard for photograpy.

Honorable mention to: Sabrina Potirala for news, Sabrina Potirala, Cristina Sarnelli and
Andrea Bradley for graphics. The Wildcat Chronicle received a Bronze rating for overall production.

"The nine awards at the Northern Illinois Student Press Association is a record," said faculty advisor Laura Kuehn. "That's pretty impressive for a staff that is trying to rebuild after losing all our seniors last year. I'm very proud of the Chronicle staff."
