Education Partners, good afternoon:
Several items as we head into the weekend:
- The District 303 community is invited to a panel
discussion hosted by the Gifted/Talented
Parent Support Group of District 303, about summer programs for
gifted students. The meeting will be held from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 24,
2005 at St. Charles East High School. Click here for more:

- The District 303
Board of Education will meet in regular session at 7:30 p.m.
Monday, May 23, 2005. The agenda will include the Board’s first official
review of the proposed 2005-06 budget.
That conversation will also likely touch on the
subject of class size caps.
Remember from a previous email that the proposed budget reflects the
administration’s recommendation to drop the K-2 class caps to allow
more flexibility and more efficient use of classroom space. But the Board will
ultimately decide that question as part of its work on the budget. NOTHING HAS
BEEN DECIDED YET. The Board usually approves the budget in September. Here is
the agenda:

- Also at Monday’s meeting, the Board is expected to
vote on naming Corron Elementary School
assistant principal Denise Liechty as the school’s new principal, succeeding
Scott Soukup, who plans to return to the classroom next fall. Click here for

- Anderson Elementary
School will hold its annual LRC book fair May 23-26. Evening
hours on Monday, May 23rd are 6-8:30 p.m. The book fair will take place
during normal school hours on May 24-26. The St. Charles Public Library will
be on hand from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday to sign up families for library cards
and summer reading book clubs. All Anderson families are in the St. Charles
Public Library boundary. Fifth graders will also demonstrate their Power
Point Presentations Monday evening.
