Four CHS Students' Work Featured in IEA Art Show
The work of four Community High School students was chosen for inclusion in the 15th Annual Illinois Education Association/NEA Continuous Art Show which features artworks by artist-members and their students as well as IEA staff, in its Springfield, Illinois headquarters. The works are exhibited in the public areas of the building during regular office hours during the coming year. The IEA is located at 100 E. Edwards Street in Springfield. The show is a rotational exhibit, consisting of paintings, prints, crafts and sculptures slected by a committee of IEA-NEA members. Each spring a new group of works will be selected for the year-long exhibit.
The works by CHS students to be included are: "The Painted Road" by senior Matt Kucera, "The Existential Man" by senior Jason LeGear, "Navidad" by senior Maricarmen Osorio, and "Homunuculus by sophomore Abigail Sherby. "This is quite an honor for our students," said CHS Principal John Highland. "They are very talented."
