The West Chicago Elementary School District 33 Board of Education adopted a
resolution at its December 14, 2006 meeting. This resolution was initiated by
the Board of Education in response to the lengthy delay in receiving results
from the 2006 State Assessments.
The Board of Education is concerned due to the lack of feedback from the assessments that were administered to students across the State in March of 2006. The Board considers this lack of information detrimental to improving education across the State of Illinois, as schools are not able to respond with changes in programming and teaching strategies before the next test is administered this March.
This document has been sent to its intended recipients, the Illinois State Board of Education and the U. S. Department of Education. It has been sent to area legislators, as well as to the DuPage County Regional Office of Education, the Illinois School Board Association, the Illinois Association of School Business Officials, the Illinois Association of School Administrators, the local teacher's union, and all DuPage County superintendents and boards of education. It is the West Chicago Elementary School District 33's Board of Education's hope that this will be passed on and adopted by organizations across the State of Illinois to ensure the state improves the turnaround time from testing to results.
