District 33 Foundation for Educational Excellence
Announces New Trustees

The West Chicago Elementary School District 33 Foundation for Educational Excellence is pleased to announce the addition of seven members to its Board of Trustees.

Trustees that were seated at the Foundation's re-organizational meeting held on Wednesday, January 17 are; Scott Fank, Sharon Finlon, Dan Fors, Ed Fuentes, Greg Kauth, Mary Beth Taylor, and Karina Villa. Current trustees include Wayne Kuntze, Rich Nagel, Pearl Marziani, Sue Stibal, District 33 Board of Education member, and Ed Leman (Superintendent).

In addition many community members, parents, and retired teachers have agreed to serve as Friends of the Foundation, and will be called upon to help the Foundation with its fundraisers and projects.

The Foundation for Educational Excellence is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization that was created in 1988. The Foundation offers projects and programs aimed at enhancing the quality of education in District 33, providing students in preschool through 8th grade with extended learning opportunities. Past projects have included Artist-in-Residence and Technologist-in-Residence programs, Teacher Mini-Grants, a Summer Intern program for 7th & 8th grade students, and the Technology Center and Computer Writing Lab at the Middle School. The Foundation has partnered with area businesses, secured grants, and hosted fundraisers to pay for these programs.
